When Cleanup Makes Sense

What Cleanup May Include
Cleanup work may include reviewing your bookkeeping file, categorizing or correcting transactions, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, cleaning up duplicates or old entries, reviewing income and expense categories, and preparing updated reports. Some projects may also involve loans, owner draws, reimbursements, payroll entries, merchant deposits, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or other items that need extra review.
How Cleanup Pricing Works
Cleanup bookkeeping is manually quoted because every file is different. Pricing depends on how far behind the books are, the number of bank and credit card accounts, transaction volume, number of months or years involved, and how much correction is needed. Most cleanup projects range from $300 to $4,000 plus. Smaller cleanups may be on the lower end. Multi-account, high volume, or multi-year cleanups may require custom pricing.

First, I review the basic condition of your books and the time period that needs cleanup. Then I provide a quote based on the scope of work. Once the cleanup begins, I work through the records in an organized way and flag questions as they come up. After the cleanup, I provide updated reports and explain anything that may still need attention.
